Throughout history, the changing of seasons has inspired creative musical composition and that is especially true for popular songs celebrating the return of spring. “Spring Swings” is a one hour concert that features Multiplicity Jazz Quintet’s unique improvisational arrangements of spring-inspired songs. Songs such as It Might as Well Be Spring (Rodgers and Hammerstein), Skylark (Hoagy Carmichael and Johnny Mercer), Joy Spring (Clifford Brown), Here Comes the Sun (George Harrison) and Up Jumped Spring (Freddie Hubbard) will be featured. The Quintet includes Barbara Kalnes on vocals, Tom Kalnes on keyboards, Gary Swiontek on bass, Rick Vitek on drums and Michael Levin on woodwinds.
